Job Title: Email Marketing Specialist
Specialty / Track: E-Commerce Retention & Lifecycle Marketing (Klaviyo / SMS)
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent Employment
Work Arrangement: 100% Remote / Work-from-Home
Working Schedule: Day Shift (with On-Call availability as needed)
Industry: Digital Performance Marketing & E-Commerce
Role Overview
We are seeking a data-driven, strategic, and meticulous Email Marketing Specialist to take full ownership of email and SMS retention channels across a portfolio of high-growth e-commerce brands.
In this role, you will not just execute sends—you will own the retention channel end-to-end. You will architect automated lifecycle journeys, map revenue-generating campaign calendars, engineer advanced audience segmentation, oversee cross-platform tracking, and collaborate closely with copywriters, visual designers, and account leads to maximize customer lifetime value (LTV) and retention-driven revenue.
Key Responsibilities
1. Channel Strategy & Retention Roadmap
Own and execute the comprehensive retention and lifecycle strategy across multiple assigned e-commerce accounts.
Plan and maintain monthly campaign editorial calendars aligned with overall brand objectives, seasonal promotions, and product launch cycles.
Architect, build, and continuously optimize end-to-end automated customer journeys and lifecycle flows (e.g., Welcome Series, Abandoned Cart/Browse, Post-Purchase Nurture, VIP programs, Win-Back, and Re-engagement).
Design and integrate a cohesive SMS marketing roadmap alongside email marketing campaigns and automated triggers.
Uncover untapped revenue opportunities across customer cohorts and drive continuous improvement via a structured A/B testing roadmap (evaluating subject lines, send frequency, preview text, offers, segmentation thresholds, and deliverability timing).
2. Technical Execution, Automation & Flow Architecture
Build, test, schedule, and deploy high-converting email and SMS campaigns within Klaviyo (and related ESP/SMS engines).
Configure complex conditional logic, behavioral triggers, filters, time delays, and dynamic product blocks across automated flows.
Develop dynamic segmentation models based on purchase recency, frequency, monetary value (RFM), browse behavior, engagement tiers, and customer lifetime value (LTV).
Enforce rigorous tracking integrity, UTM link structures, custom parameter tagging, and attribution modeling across all touchpoints.
Conduct thorough end-to-end Quality Assurance (QA) on all links, renders across mobile and desktop clients, personalization tags, dynamic discount codes, and copy before deployment.
3. Performance Optimization & Deliverability Management
Conduct daily and weekly performance tracking across core channel KPIs: Revenue Per Recipient (RPR), Placed Order Rate / Conversion Rate (CVR), Click-Through Rate (CTR), Open Rates, Deliverability/Reputation metrics, and List Growth.
Actively monitor and manage domain sender health, inbox placement, bounce rates, spam complaints, and unsubscribe trends.
Diagnose conversion funnel drop-offs and implement rapid, data-backed optimizations to flows and sign-up capture units.
4. Analytics, Insights & Cross-Functional Alignment
Compile weekly and monthly retention performance reports detailing channel health and business impact.
Synthesize raw performance data into clear, actionable commercial recommendations and strategic next steps.
Present performance metrics, strategic findings, and test results to internal teams and participate in client-facing review meetings when required.
Measure and communicate retention marketing's percentage contribution to overall store revenue.
Collaborate with copywriters, graphic designers, and account managers to ensure creative assets align with testing goals and account performance targets.
